St. Louis Regional Airport: The high today reached 88F. The dewpoint got up to 77 and the humidity 84%. The heat index topped out at 100F. There were mostly cloudy skies for much of the day, then clear after sunset.

The SPC has pushed the area with a “marginal risk” for severe thunderstorms to the northeast.

A cool front is expected to push across the area late Tuesday evening and into the overnight hours. The severe threat previously mentioned has been pushed to the northeast, leaving only a small chance for isolated showers and non-severe thunderstorms for areas along and north of I-64.

For the rest of the week, Wednesday through Saturday, we can expect a nice cool down with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and dry weather. It looks like things will warm up starting Saturday night, with above average temperatures, and below average precipitation expected for all of Illinois from September 9th through at least the 13th.
